The Novice Sweater – Chunky Edition is worked from the top down. You will start by knitting the neck ribbing, then the yoke, then the body of the sweater and finally the sleeves. The sweater is worked in stockinette stitch with edges in rib stitch.

The Novice Sweater – Chunky Edition has a circular yoke. The yoke is shaped with a total of 4 rounds of increases that are evenly distributed along the length of the yoke.

The Novice Sweater – Chunky Edition is designed to have approx. 18 cm [7 inches] of positive ease. This means that if you for example measure 95 cm [37½ inches] around your bust (measure yourself around your bust, or the widest point of your torso, using a measuring tape), you should knit a size M which has a finished circumference of 114 cm [45 inches]. A size M sweater would in the given example give you 19 cm [7½ inches] of positive ease.
