Dye lots policy

I often get messages added to orders asking for all yarn to be from the same dye lot. Please let me reassure you on this, I will never send out yarn from different dye lots without discussing with you first. It's my policy to always check with my customer if I can't provide yarn for your order in one shade all from the same dye lot. This does happen, on occasion, but if it does I will contact you with a photo and you can decide for yourself. I'm not here to make a quick buck out of my customers, your trust is really important to me and I want you to be really happy with your purchase and come back again.

It does also depend on the project - if you are knitting something striped like a PetiteKnit Olga sweater or Jacket, you can most likely get away with different dye lots. Just make sure you don't change dye lot in the middle of a stripe. If you are making a solid colour sweater it may not be worth risking though. It's also worth thinking about how you will wear the item.  If it's for a Sophie shawl or hood, this will be worn wrapped round the head and neck, and any minor variances would be hard to detect when the garment is being worn.

At the end of the day, I can advise what I think if needed, but as the customer, it's your decision and your preference always comes first.  If you'd like to check availability of yarn from the same dye lot, you can always pop into the chat  and ask to help you be fully informed. (Just click on the Smiley face on the bottom right of my website to get into chat).
