The Laine x Novita Stormfell sweater yarn kit includes the required quantity of the Laine x Novita DK and Edith yarns for the size selected. The pattern is available for download from the Laine website.  The Silent Storm shade is a very dark navy, whereas Winter Black is, of course, Black. 

The Laine x Novita Stormfell sweater was born from a feeling, the need for something quiet and grounding. A sweater to wear on ordinary days, yet still feels like a small gesture of care. I had designed its older sibling, Albarn, a while back: warm, bold and comforting, but too heavy for everyday wear.

This one had to be different: lighter, softer, easier to reach for. The kind of knit that calms the mind with its rhythm, yet still makes you feel put together.

Worked seamlessly from the top down, Laine x Novita Stormfell Sweater features a relaxed drop-shoulder silhouette and a sculptural turtleneck – simple, but striking. Knitted in Laine x Novita DK and Novita Edith Silk Mohair. I chose a dark blue that reminds me of home: a town tucked between two lakes, where the sky and water often blur into one.

MATERIALS

Yarn: Stormfell  is knitted with two yarns held together.


1. 5 (5, 5, 6, 6) (6, 7, 7, 8) skeins of Laine x Novita DK by Novita (70% Falkland Wool, 15% Bluefaced Leicester, 15% Bluefaced Kerry Hill, 246 yds / 225  m – 100  g), colourway: 1831 Silent Storm. 

2.  4 (5, 5, 5, 6) (6, 6, 7, 7) balls of Edith by Novita (70% mohair, 30% silk, 229 yds / 210 m – 25  g), colourway: 1731 Night.

NEEDLES: US  6 / 4 mm circular needles for ribbing and US 10.5 / 6.5 mm circular needles for stockinette stitch.

16 sts 21 rows = 4” / 10 cm on US 10.5 / 6.5 mm needles in stockinette stitch.
