Easy to knit and suitable for everything from blouses to scarves and shawls on needles 3–6 mm – like knitting with a cloud of luxury.

Cashmere Kumula is cashmere in its most beautiful form: a yarn where luxury and practicality go hand in hand. The yarn is spun with a thin core thread of cashmere, around which the long, fine cashmere fibers are woven. We have tested other options as core threads (silk, wool), but only cashmere core thread gave the result we wanted: a yarn structure that is both soft, incredibly flexible and dimensionally stable – and which allows the knit to fall with a wonderfully soft and supple drape.

Cashmere is a hair and differs from both wool and silk: it is smoother, lighter and filled with air. That is why the knit feels extra lively and supple.
In Kumula you also get a very special surface: not just light hair, but a small irregular cloud of fine cashmere hairs, - but without the yarn being produced as a brushed yarn. This means that Kumula retains the cloud effect without scattering or losing fibers, as brushed yarns otherwise do.
The surface gives a luxurious softness and a light play that makes the knit seem even more exclusive.

The colors are classic and at the same time in line with the current trend. In some shades, the core thread is slightly darker, which gives a discreet play in the stitch pattern and highlights the structure of the yarn.

Cashmere Kumula can be shaped into everything from dense children's blouses to airy scarves - it all depends on the needle and knitting tension. On needle 5 you get a sweater or scarf that is both warm and filling, but which can be squeezed together to almost nothing and put in a bag or pocket. On thinner needles you get a denser, more cozy structure, without the yarn losing its suppleness. The yarn follows your choice and gives you complete freedom to create exactly the knit you want.

Knitting tension and needles

Needles 6 mm: 15 m = 10 cm (shawls, baby wraps, scarves and loose knits)
Needles 5–5½ mm: loose knit sweaters, blouses, shawls, scarves
Needles 4–4½ mm: classic knitting tension for blouses, solid scarves, children's knits
Needles 3–3½ mm: solid knit for dense blouses, children's knits, pillows, hats

Hand wash at 20–25 °C in a laundry bag
