Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt has had a huge resurge in popularity in recent years as it has been embraced by leading modern designers like PetiteKnit, Rebecca Clow and the Knit Purl girl.
Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt is a pleasure to knit with, as it's a nice solid DK, with a fabulous range of shades. Garments made of Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt are light, warm and grow softer every time you wear them. Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt is produced in Norway, is durable and pill-resistant, and garments keep their shape very well.
Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt has been on the market ever since 1938, and you have to try it for yourself to find out why it is so beloved. It is a DK weight yarn, renowned for its durability. In Norway, garments made from Peer Gynt are passed down through the generations as it has such longevity.
Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt is breathable and rarely needs washing. Try airing your garments and spot cleaning before you decide to wash them. Garments made of Norwegian wool have a long lifespan and can remain just as beautiful for several generations. As a result, Norwegian wool can contribute to more sustainable consumption.
PLEASE NOTE: Some of the melange shades of Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt are made from mixing natural, undyed shades of pure wool. They can very occasionally be a bit more sheep-fragranced as a result. If you're not a fan of this, you can put the yarn in the freezer or soak your finished garment in a vinegar solution to get rid of any unwanted aroma.
Looking for a different shade I don't currently have in stock? Just drop me a line and I can order it in for you.
Garments made from Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt can be washed in the washing machine using the wool wash programme and a gentle spin cycle. Gently remove excess water and dry the garment flat, preferably on top of a towel. Never use a laundry bag when washing hand-knitted wool garments. This creates friction that can cause the garment to felt.
I've ordered a few things from Kat at Treasure and it's now my go to first choice for anything related to knitting, definitely my new favourite shop.
The order always arrives quickly and beautifully packaged, the free gifts added are lovely and appreciated. My only negative is that I don't live close to the shop.
Lovely 100% Norwegian wool from Sandnes Garn. Love the thickness and feel of the Fritids Garn in natural heather plus it can be felted. Great range of colours too. Using it to knit slippers. Treasure modern knitting is a great small business to buy from and we should be supporting these businesses. Communication from Kat has been 5* and a lovely touch with the heart and boot shaped stitch holders. Thank you 🤗
PetiteKnit patterns are great. I haven’t yet started knitting the Frankie sweater yet but really looking forward to it. In fact I’m going to try knit most of them as I love them all.
Lovely yarn! I bought it to make the Urra waistcoat/ vest in Archipelago Knitting. Looking forward to starting the project. Treasure Modern Knitting has a great website and the ordering and delivery service all worked very well. The stitchmarker attached to one of the balls of yarn is a sweet touch! Thank you!
A beautiful book, it arrived well packaged and I’ve already almost finished my first project, the Mårup vest, using Tynn Peer Gynt and Tynn Silk Mohair from Treasure.
